Know your value and find your circle !!!

Let’s start with story of a father (Gress) and his lovely daughter (Lussy)…

Lussy completed her graduation and she enjoyed her convocation ceremony with her father (Gress) only, as she lost her mother when she was 15 years old. She grew as a single parent child from her 15th. Today, she is 21 years young and dynamic graduate.

She started searching for a job, she used to update her father about what she did on daily basis, how she is progressing on her job search. Gress was happy with her progress and willing to do something in her life. As a father Gress decided to teach her a perfect lesson of “Know Your Value and find your circle” which she should mean and use for lifetime.

Gress is 55 years old man and he has his dad’s car, an old model of 1940 or 1950, which was not drove since last 15 to 20 years and it was just lie back in his garage. He was even not sure even it will start or not, he started searching for the key and luckily after spending whole day he got it. Next day morning he tried to start the car but no luck. As it was holiday Lussy helped Gress till lunch time and she lost the hope, but Gress tried for whole day but no luck.

On the table of dinner Lussy saw her father was not happy even after a whole day effort.

Lussy :- Dad, My love, why are you so worried about that garbage car? Better we sell it and get some money for our party at least, and she laughed……

Gress :- Come here Lussy, that’s my dad’s car dear, it’s not garbage, you don’t know how valuable that car is?

Lussy:- Dad, I can understand your feelings but it’s not working. Better we sell it, I will get a new car for you as your Birthday gift, just give me some time please…

Gress :- You are so sweet my dear… Thank you very much for your words & courtesy… You enjoy your life; I don’t need a new car now.

Lussy :- Dad, listen to me, can we sell it? Please… Please….. (And she started bagging for it)

Gress :- Okay… go ahead and find some good dealer or friend to buy it.

Lussy :- Yeeeehe… sure Dad … Love you!!!!

Gress :- Love you…. Honey!!!

Next day Lussy started searching for dealers, he took help of her friends and found one dealer.

Dealer: Lussy, Can you get your car to my shop for examination and valuation, please?

Lussy : Sorry, I can’t as it’s not working.

Dealer: Ohh… so sorry Lussy, we need at least running car… it’s okay if it is old.

Lussy explain complete story to dealer but no luck… he was not ready to come her home for examination and valuation.

After searching for 3 – 4 dealers, a dealer (Marcin) agrees to come down to her garage, looked the car and did all examination. He come up with valuation of 500 pounds (50,000 INR) for the car.

Lussy was too happy, for her, it’s something she cracked a good deal.

Lussy: Thank you very much Marcin, I will discuss with my dad and will confirm you tomorrow, is that Okay?

Marcin: Absolutely, if you are Okay just give me a call and I will toa it to my garage.

Lussy: Thank You very much!!!

Lussy went to her Dad and explained everything with great excitement like just like big deal.

Gress: Fantastic Lussy, you did it, I never imagine you could do this.

Lussy: I am your proud daughter; I can do anything!!!

Gress: Absolutely dear, why don’t you try some more dealers? We may get good price, then we can have multiple parties for whole year… and he started laughing loudly….. ha… ha… ha…….

Lussy: My Goodness… yes, I can… let me try it… of-course, I will get some exciting deals.

Gress: That’s my princes… Love you!!

Next day, Lussy started search again, this time she got 600 Pounds (60K INR) then 700 Pounds (70K INR), she spent almost her month and final deal she got of 800 pounds (80K INR). No one was ready for more than that price. She explained to her dad.

Lussy: Dad, final price I got is 800 Pounds, I am done… Not getting anyone who can offer me more than this price.

Gress: Okay dear… so as per your market search it’s price is 800 Pounds (80K INR). Have you tried all possible options? Or you left with some?

Lussy: No Dad. I tried all whatever possible to me. I don’t think so I missed anyone.

Gress: Okay, I hope you checked with your friend circle, almost all dealers and on Internet as well?

Lussy : Yes Dad, I did it.

Gress: Okay, now let me do my market search for same thing, please allow me the same time. is that Okay?

Lussy: Ohh, my goodness… You will be doing market search now? Just after I did it all? Okay… go ahead… (She surprized and went to her room)

Next day morning, Gress sat in a garage, did his research, and joined one online car lovers & driving passionate group. He took some good snaps of his car and uploaded in that group with tag My First Love. Over the table of dinner, he explained to Lussy about what he did….

Lussy: What’s a big deal in it, Dad? Did anyone showed interest to buy it?

Gress: No, but I am sure someone will be some day.

Lussy: Ohhhh…. Someone? Some day? Let’s see… we have complete month for that someone and she started laughing …..

Gress was optimistic and was very sure, he will get best price of it. Daily he used to do the same thing, find some passionate driver’s group, take good pictures and post with tag “My First Love”.

It’s been a complete week, no one show up and nothing was happening but he was consistent and doing the same.

Lussy: Dad, why we are wasting our time? We may lose that 800 Pounds deal of as well. I am not sure what you are doing? Anyways, it’s your car, do whatever you want. I don’t know, why I wasted my whole month and efforts to get the best deal. I was so stupid.

Second week passed no one interested to buy, 3rd week passed nothing happened. Lussy, got call from the dealer with whom she had a deal of 800 Pounds.

Dealer: Ma’am this is last chance, I will not call again, I am giving you 850 Pounds (85K INR) last. Shall I come today to take your car?

Lussy: I am so sorry, my dad gone crazy, I don’t know what he is doing, and I don’t want to get it into now. Thank you for calling me… I apologies.

Dealer: Okay ma’am no worries, take care… have a great day.

Lussy: You too…. Thank you very much.

Lussy went to Gress, explained about her conversation with dealer…

Gress: By saying No to him, you did great job my princess, and he laughed ..…

Lussy: Dad, can’t you see, we lost our final deal and you are laughing? Why you are so crazy? I think you do not want to sell it. you are just wasting my time.

She bangs the door and went to her room. Gress felt bad but he knew what he was doing….

Next day morning, Gress took paid registration of “Driving Passionate Gold” online group by paying 100 pounds (10k) fees as registration fees and posted his car’s photos with tag line “Selling, my first love”. Gress was so excited by doing this, as soon as Lussy home in the evening he told her about his paid registration.

Lussy: Dad, seriously you are out of your mind now, do whatever you want, I am no longer part of this discussion. Rather I do not want to have this discussion.

Just, after two days of paid registration Gress got call from one young man (Chrees).

Chrees: Hello, Good Morning… Is this Gress?

Gress: Speaking, May I know who is online?

Chrees: I am Chrees, I saw you Car pics in the “Driving Passionate Gold” group, I am also a member as you, are you interested to sell your car?

Gress got excited by hearing this, he controlled his excitement and happiness to reply

Gress: Yes, Chrees that’s right.

Chrees: Are you available today, I will come to your home to have a look of your car, is that fine?

Gress: Absolutely, no problem.

Chrees went to Gress home and looked at the car, he was checking each and every part of the car. It was so old model of 1940 or 1950, Chress realise this is gold I am getting as it is very rear to find such old model now in the market.

Chrees: I am Okay, I will take it, How, much you are expecting for this Gress?

Gress: I am expecting 10,000 Pounds (10 Lacs INR).

Chrees: What? 10,000 pounds? No way… I am sorry… I can’t … I don’t think so, it worth that much and he left.

Next day again phone rang, another passionate guy but this time car price was 12,000 Pounds (12 Lacs INR), This continues till 15,000 Pounds and then no show… no call to Gress but he was optimistic and he knows the value of his car.

Next day Morning, Gress took paid registration again, by paying 250 pounds (25K INR) as registration fees but, this time it is “Driving Passionate Premium” group. After 2 days, one gentleman Jack called Gress and this time car price was 18,000 Pounds (18 Lacs INR) and interestingly Jack was happy & ready to pay 16K Pounds but not 18K. Now, Gress realised what he was thinking is correct, his car is rearrest and so most valuable. This time, he went beyond his limit and took paid registration of “Driving Passionate Titanium” group by paying 500 Pounds (50K INR) registration fees.

I have a question for you… Was Gress really paying for registration? Or He was Investing in his car to get the best value of it? (Please not the difference between paying for something and investing in something, to get best out of it.)

Let me tell you, Gress was Investing in his Car, in terms of paid registration to get the best value from the right person.

As Gress got Titanium membership now, next day Gress got invitation from one bungalow, Reason being Titanium is the membership where all true passionate and multimillionaire gentlemen’s hangs out.

Bungalow owner: Gress, happy to see you here.

Gress: It’s my pleasure, sir.

Bungalow owner: Why, do you want to sell your car?

Gress: I don’t want to sell it; I want to teach a lifetime lesion to my daughter about “Know your value and find your circle” & I think, I am on a right track.

Bungalow owner: Fantastic… I got you… She is too lucky to have you as Dad… So, as per your opinion how much valuable your car is?

Gress: It’s 25,000 pounds (25 Lacs INR), sir.

Bungalow owner: (Looked in Gress eyes and said) ……. DONE!!! ..... it’s fair deal… I am happy… On the top of this, I will gift it to my daughter on her up-coming 21st birthday, till that time, could please keep it with you?

Gress: Thank you very much Sir, I will love to keep it and desperately waiting for your daughter’s birthday. I got perfect owner and value for my car. I am happy that finally I found My car’s Circle where it should belong. and I promise, My Car (My first love) is your property from now.

Bungalow owner: You are interesting person Gress, I will send my daughter to your home to collect her gift, please share this lifelong lesion with her as well. Thank you for your time.

Gress invested 100+250+500 = 850 Pounds (85K INR), to Know his car Value and ultimately he found its Circle where it should belong. Without investment in you, you will never know your true Value and unable to find your Circle.

It is very important to know your value, at the same time find your circle to hang out. If you are hanging out with Loins you will adopt their way of thinking, behaviour and actions to become a Loin. So, it is very important to be surrounded by thoughtful, honest, loyal & positive mindset people to get success and fulfilled life.

As a IT or any other working professional, if you know your value, just ask & fight for it, then only you will be sitting on the epitome of success, else I am sorry to say, but you will struggle lifetime for survival...
